I just got back from a wonderful long weekend with the SO.  First, to Port Angeles (WA) overnight, then the ferry to Victoria (BC) on Sat AM, overnight and then back to Port Townsend on Sun PM, day spent there, then home.

Somehow managed to hit quite a few bead stores - 3 in BC, 1 in Port Townsend.  Had a great time.

But awoke today (in Pt. T) with a cough.  Kind of hacking, upper-back-of-the-throat-between-nose-&-mouth kind of thing.  Icky sticky feeling, and a cough that seems to want to grab me and shake me like a pit bull, if only I'd let it.  Took extra steroids, because I thought (at first) it was my lung problem, but no.  And every time I get a "coughing cold" since the lung thing debuted?  Ugly.  And long.

And here I am.  Happy for a wonderful weekend... but worried about how much illness the week brings.

I'm wheezing now... that can't be good.

I am so jealous. I LOOOOOOVE that part of the country, so frickin beautiful.
What did you do while in Victoria? I'll live vicariously through you since it's been several years since I've been there.

Hope your week is not bad with illness.

I walked extensively through the Inner Harbour, Chinatown, and up to Craigdarrogh Castle (and toured it). Had a great dinner at Chandlers (to die for!), and hit a number of wonderful bead shops.

All in all, a wonderful vacation! (except for the illness at the end, but at least it was at the end)

Good to hear that you had a fabulous weekend. Crossing fingers that the coughing-cold won't be as bad as you fear.

Thanks!

The cough was pretty bad for the first day, and by yesterday afternoon? The staff was looking at me with horrified eyes, because I guess I looked like hell. Nose started turning into a spigot, and by the time I was home? Everytime I swallowed, my head would pressurize. So even while sinuses lighten up your head so we don't have to have necks like Cardassians... don't like them much now.

Took the only sinus pill I had (some generic for tylenol sinus), but it was a "daytime formula" - and you can imagine how that made sleeping last night.

*sigh*

I hope today goes better - just took more meds, and hope it will work fast (although it took over 2 hours for it to kick in last night).

Hope your cough is over before you know it, without draining you!

Where'd you stay in Port Townsend?

Stayed at the Harborside Inn, and it was fine.

However, when I went walking through town, there was an Open House at "A Victorian Inn" - and it was divine! Everything from shared bath rooms to ones with a partial or full kitchen in them! And Victorian to modern baths, depending on the room.

I'm staying there next time! Although it has no AC, so I wouldn't want to do it on a hot day (like today is supposed to be - we're going to hit 90!)

I'm so envious of your getaway. Nice to read about it though.

I hope your cough doesn't turn into anything serious.
Cause....that would suck.

Thanks for the good wishes. It's still got me by the throat, but it seems to be lessening a little... as my nose turns into a spigot.

Here's hoping the sinus med/decongestant will help, because if I was a patient? I wouldn't want to see me right now...
