Final advice needed on software...
OK, so tomorrow I go to Microsoft to take part in a study, and I've pretty much determined that I don't really need any of the software they are offering. So... I'm going to get something expensive, and resell on eBay. I've narrowed it down to a few choices, and I'd like advice on which one you think would re-sell best. If you click the link, it should take you to the current search for that title on eBay - if I did it right.

MS Office Professional 2003 - SRP $499 (and if I can't sell it, I could still use it, although I have a lesser version running on my PC right now)

Visio Professional 2003 SRP $499 (I'm still not that clear on what this does)

Project Standard 2003 SRP $599

Publisher 2003 with Digital Imaging SRP $209 (I have Digital Image 9, so really don't need this)

Help me decide, please!!!

Go for the ms office. Almost everyone needs it. Plus there isn't a single thing in Visio that you can't do with a little know how in Powerpoint, Access and Excel which are all in MS office.

Visio makes charts and diagrams. It's a business tool which isn't neccessary if you have office.

Project Standard basically keeps track of things for businesses. again unnecessary if you have Office however Visio and Project Standard are more user friendly in the sense that the features they have are more complex on Excel and require more knowledge but office is completely capable of doing the same thing the other two programs use.

Anyway point is go with office it's more readily used and has the same capabilities as the other programs and you'll have an easier time finding someone who wants it.

MS Office Professional 2003 - SRP $499

That's a program that if you're going to resell, could probably get the most offers on since it's a commonly used/needed program. IMO at least.

Go with MS Office for all the reasons in the other 2 comments... but don't get too excited about the SRPs because I just bought Project Standard 2003 for the campaign that I'm working on for $69 on eBay... and it was brand new, in sealed container, straight from the manufacturer with an key code for registration and everything... so if you're expecting to get at least half of the SRP, don't count on it... you may only get 1/10th of that amount.

I figure if I get 20% (ie - $100), I'm lucky. And remember - I'm driving 50 miles each way to do this.

Hell, I just may keep it and upgrade my "Teachers and Students Office 2003" Edition.

I'd check eBay first to see if these things are even selling or selling for reasonable prices.. A lot of times you expect to be able to sell something but can't, or you have to lower the price a lot. (Generic "you," I mean.)

Ordered it... now I just have to wait the 6-8 weeks for delivery.

But not a bad reward for a 15 minute study!
