All I need is another TV show to watch...
... but that's what I'm contemplating.

Does anyone watch Top Chef? And do they like it? Or not?

I never used to watch reality shows. Then I got hooked on "America's Next Top Model", then "Project Runway". I'm not into every reality show, but this type of concept? Like it. Started watching the hair one with Jaclyn Smith, but didn't really get into that one.

I watched Hell's Kitchen the other night, which was kind of entertaining in a "trainwreck" kind of way. Seemed a lot like the Jerry Springer of the cooking shows. Who would want to subject themselves to that?!?

Then I saw in one of my gossip rags that Top Chef was starting. So I checked my Comcast DV-R, and found out that they were running a mini-marathon (the last 10 shows) of last season, so I recorded them. I'm just sitting down to watch the first one (something about a fat camp?) now.

So, pros, cons, anything?

I loved Top Chef Season 1, but Season 2 was a bit too drama-based; if S3 keeps the focus on the food and the work of the contestants, it'll be worth watching. Top Chef's great when it's on. And they have Ted Allen on the judges now! I really like him.

Do I like it? I am totally, completely Bravo's bitch. Search my tags for Top Chef and you'll see my rantings. I liked season 1 15378461656316531 times more than season 2.

Oh yeah & I think I have a small crush on Hung.

Oh, hell yes! I love Top Chef AND Hell's Kitchen. I love Gordon Ramsay--he has a few shows on BBC America as well. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and The F Word. I love when he yells!

I love Gordon, but cannot watch when he raises and kills the food on The F Word.

Yeah, I usually leave the room for that as well...

i LOVE top chef. not such a fan of hell's kitchen. and this season's set of chefs on top chef look really good (from the season premiere, which is just ending now). the only problem i have with top chef is that it airs late at night, but always makes me super-hungry... and i shouldn't eat at this time of night. :)

(also, it's true that there was a lot of drama last season - but i thought the cooking part was good enough to make up for it. they come up with some really interesting challenges. i only wish they made the chefs do pastry sometime - the chefs always say things like "i'm not a pastry chef," so i think that would be a good challenge. but from the season preview, it looks like they might actually do it this year, so yay.)

the post-episode "season preview" makes it look like there might still be drama this season, though. lots of people fighting and swearing at each other. :-/

Bravo is the channel that I bow down to. I love Top Chef S1 because they really showcased the food and not too much drama. The drama was actually funny. S2, too much drama and almost everyone seemed like an asshole. S3, I hope they bring it back to the food and if tonight's episode says anything, it has potential.

I catch Hells Kitchen from time to time myself. I don't care what kind of job they are offering, that guy could f*** off. I would never subject myself to that. I would go on the Apprentice long before considering Hell's Kitchen lol

Not sure what to say, I only get one channel right now, and not watching much of anything, sadly.

Reality shows rule me and Top Chef is one of my favorites. The only thing I hate is.....it comes on at 10:00pm and by the time it's over I'm STARVING....LOL!!
