WTF?
We're supposed to have "sleet, hail, lowland snow" this weekend.

And it's f*cking mid April!?!?!?

And of course, I f***ing planted my strawberries last weekend... at least they're in big strawberry pots, maybe I can drag them into the garage... it's down the 12 steps that will be difficult.

ETA: The Boyo (my crazy lovey evil boy kitty) was totally jacked up by this big housefly buzzing all over the house. Rare, because we have great screens, insects are rare here, and it's still pretty cold/windy/rainy. I drew his attention to the fly, which was on a lampshade. He batted at it, and that's the last I saw.

But I went down the hall to the guest bathroom, and saw a big black spot on the floor. Looked closely, and? It was the housefly. He got it, killed it, but didn't destroy or eat it.

Maybe it was a present for me? As I'd shown him where it was on the lamp...

get some sticks and place them in the dirt, so that the tops are just above the tops of the plants. Get some heavy plastic-trashbags will do in a pinch. As soon as it starts getting very cold, cover the pots and seal them up tight, with the sticks leaving an area for air-the warmth of the soil will create a type of 'greenhouse' effect.

Not the best solution, but it has saved my plants before!
